Gunshot Victim Matthew Spann On Life-Support In C.C. Hospital



    We have new information tonight on the 15 year-old Victoria County boy who suffered a gunshot would to the head. The boy has been identified as Matthew Spann, the son of Victoria County Precinct 1 Commissioner Kenny Spann. Matthew Spann remains at a Corpus Christi Hospital where he is on life support.
    The entire community has taken shaken by this accident. The mood inside the Victoria County Commissioners Court this morning was somber as they began with a moment of silence for Matthew Spann. Although the County Judge Donald Pozzi would not comment on camera, he did ask the court to pray for the Spann Family. Pozzi said Precinct 1 Commissioner Kenny Spann, absent from this morning’s meeting is in Corpus Christi with his family.
    Matthew was injured Monday after receiving a gunshot would to the forehead while shooting guns with another teenager at a pasture on Bayer Road. Authorities say the shooting may have just been an accident, but are still investigating. The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Matthew is on life support as of 5pm Tuesday afternoon. We will continue to follow and provide updates as soon as we receive any new information.

Decades ago, back when I was still an omnivore, I'd just pour ockoed stock through a strainer into a large bowl, then refrigerate.
